Veteran soft-rock outfit America has mapped out plans for an ambitious US tour that will cover the map from coast to coast.
Dates for the just-launched outing stretch through the end of October, with stops planned in more than 30 US markets, as well as a one-off foray into Canada for a July 25 show in Alberta. Details are included below.
America--a.k.a. Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell--continues to support 2007's "Here & Now," a two-disc set that includes the group's first new material in more than 20 years alongside a live disc of classic hits. The album features production work from Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) and James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins), as well as contributions from Ryan Adams, Ben Kweller, and members of My Morning Jacket, Nada Surf and Maplewood.
In January, the America followed "Here & Now" with "America Live in Concert: Wildwood Springs," which captures a 2007 acoustic performance at Missouri's Wildwood Springs Lodge. Included on the collection are unplugged versions of hits such as "A Horse With No Name," "Sister Golden Hair" and "Ventura Highway," according to the band's website.
