Singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw and alt-rockers Collective Soul will join forces on the road for a co-headlining US summer tour.
The 13-city run officially gets underway June 22 in Cleveland, OH, with both parties scheduling headlining shows before, during and after the shared itinerary. Details are included below, with headlining shows for DeGraw and Collective Soul noted.
"We are excited to get back out on the road this summer, and are delighted it's with Gavin," Collective Soul frontman Ed Roland said in a prepared statement. "The band have always been big fans, and we look forward to some great shows."
DeGraw worked on his most recent album, this year's "Free," with producer Camus Celli (Tina Turner, David Byrne), and was backed by an ace studio crew that included guitarist Audley Freed (Black Crowes), bassist Andy Hess (Gov't Mule), drummer Charley Drayton (Keith Richards' X-Pensive Winos) and keyboardist George Laks (Lenny Kravitz).
"Free" follows DeGraw's self-titled 2008 set, helmed by Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Daughtry, My Chemical Romance). That album, featuring the leadoff single, "In Love with a Girl," peaked at No. 7 on The Billboard 200 album chart.
Collective Soul continues to support its seventh studio album, "Afterwords," which surfaced in the summer of 2007 on its own El Music Group label. The set features the singles "Hollywood" and "All That I Know," both of which are streaming at the band's MySpace page.
