Just like the title of their debut album, "Tell 'Em What Your Name Is," the Austin, TX, blues outfit Black Joe Lewis [ tickets ] & The Honey Bears are making the rounds, introducing themselves and getting noticed.

Lewis cites the music of Lightnin' Hopkins [ tickets ] and James Brown [ tickets ] among his main influences, and, according to his band's website, it wasn't that long ago that he stumbled on his own talent. "When I was 19 or 20, I was working in this pawn shop and all these guys would bring in guitars," he said. "One day, I started playing around with one and took it home and started teaching myself how to play."
