Sara Evans extends tour, preps for book and album

Country crooner Sara Evans has further filled out her summer tour plans and added new dates scattered into the winter months.

The award-winning singer--who will continue her current outing June 19 in Sun Valley, ID--has tacked an additional 23 stops onto the US trek, which is headed to fairs, festivals and theme parks into early September. Following a nearly three-month break, Evans will return to the road after Thanksgiving for a casino-and-theater run along the West Coast through mid-December. Details are included below.

Evans, who married former University of Alabama quarterback Jay Barker last summer, most recently released "Greatest Hits" in 2007. The album marked her 10-year anniversary in the music business and reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart. "Real Fine Place," which surfaced in 2005 and claimed the top spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, is Evans' most recent collection of all-new material.

In related news, Evans signed a four-book deal with Thomas Nelson Publishing Company earlier this year. The country artist plans to reveal her first inspirational novel later this year, in conjunction with a new studio album produced by Nathan Chapman.

Said to be influenced by her own life and experiences, the work, as described by Evans on her website, is an "emotional, Southern-flavored, multi-generational tale, featuring a compelling love story."

"I believe there is power in great stories," Evans continued. "This is the kind of book I love to read and share."
