Barbra Streisand lines up jazz album
"Love is the Answer," Barbra Streisand 's new collection of jazz classics and standards, will hit stores this fall.
Due in stores Sept. 29, the set will feature Streisand backed by Canadian jazz performer Diana Krall on piano, as well as Krall's own quartet, "who brought a refined and sensual poignancy to the album's spare and subtle accompaniments," according to a press release from Streisand's label, Columbia Records.
The label describes "Love is the Answer" as an album that presents Streisand "as a cabaret and jazz singer of emotional clarity, depth and maturity."
In addition to Krall, Streisand collaborated on "Love is the Answer" with songwriter/Grammy-winning arranger Johnny Mandel, who worked with Streisand on 1993's "Back to Broadway" and Krall's 1998 Grammy-winning "When I Look in Your Eyes."
Columbia did not reveal the tracklist for "Love is the Answer," which will mark Streisand's first new studio album since 2005's "Guilty Pleasures."
