Powerman 5000 plots fall course
After a handful of sporadic summer shows, rockers Powerman 5000 will return to the road this fall for a headlining tour of the US.
The summer run comprises four shows scattered from mid-July through late August, followed by a one-off, late-September performance. The alt-metal act will then enjoy a month-long hiatus before climbing back on the tour bus for an Oct. 25 performance in Waterloo, IA. The 20-city fall outing focuses mainly on clubs and theaters throughout the Midwest, wrapping up Nov. 18 in Mesa, AZ. The full schedule is below.
Tickets for the fall shows are available via EnterTheVault.com now through July 15, after which tickets will be sold through traditional channels.
The group has been working on a new album for some time, releasing the first two singles--"V is For Vampire" and "Super Villain"--on the band's MySpace page earlier this year. Rumor has it the new studio effort will hit shelves later this year, though no confirmed date has been announced.
The new work follows "Destroy What You Enjoy," which surfaced in 2006 and climbed to the No. 5 spot on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart.
Following that record's release, the group replaced guitarists Johnny Heatley and Terry Corso with Evan Rodaniche and Dave Pino.
