Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina have filled out their late-summer road trip, extending the North American run into mid-fall.
The acoustic duo will work its way from the East Coast to the West, beginning with an Aug. 20 performance in Hyannis, MA. Since last check, the club and theater trek has an additional 20 dates, including stops in Wantagh, NY (8/23); Highland Park, IL (9/3); and Anaheim, CA (9/30); as well as two-night stands in Niagara Falls (9/11-12) and Saratoga, CA (10/5-6). The full schedule is shown below.
This extended summer outing marks the second joint road trip for the reunited singer/songwriters since 1976.
The pair released "The Best: Loggins & Messina Sittin' In Again" in 2005 and followed it with a reunion tour of the US. One stop on that run became fodder for a live DVD, "Loggins and Messina Live - Sittin' in Again at Santa Barbara Bowl," which surfaced in November 2005.
Before the tour gets underway, Loggins will unveil on the Disney label later this month a collection of covers directed at children entitled "All Join In." The soft-rock singer promoted the work recently on QVC, a move that many established musicians have made in recent years, including Neil Diamond and James Taylor.
"Most children's albums are strictly for the children and the parents have to listen to it whether they like it or not," Loggins explained in a press release. "My goal has been to make an album that parents love as much as the children."
