Bruce Hornsby has begun locking in tour dates in advance of his upcoming album release, "Levitate," due this September.
The tour plan includes dates with Hornsby's longtime band the Noisemakers, a sprinkling of solo dates and guest appearances with Ricky Skaggs and Christian McBride.
"Levitate" marks the first release co-credited to the Noisemakers and is dedicated to the memory of Hornsby's nephew, R.S. Hornsby, who frequently performed with Hornsby and was killed in a car accident shortly after recording guitar parts for the album.
Hornsby is among the group of artists who regularly release live recordings, and for the past several years has maintained an archive of live shows at Munck Music, which has also handled live recordings from the Allman Brothers Band, Little Feat and the New Orleans Jazzfest and Voodoo festivals.
