Rick Springfield has unveiled a lengthy summer and fall outing behind his recently released album, "My Precious Little One."
The former teen idol returned to the road with a Fourth of July performance in Rama, Ontario, and will continue the trek tonight (7/10) in Concho, OK, before hitting arenas, fairgrounds and casinos in 35 cities across the continent. The itinerary also includes the performer's second annual Rick Springfield & Friends Cruise slated for Nov. 12-16. Launching from Miami, the four-night getaway will feature special guest Richard Marx, as well as a number of daytime actors. More information about the fall cruise is available at the event's website, and the full tour schedule is shown below.
While the shows support "My Precious Little One," a set of original lullabies penned by Springfield, they will also highlight hits from the singer's discography, such as "Jessie's Girl," "Don't Talk to Strangers" and "Love Somebody."
"I wrote these original lullabies for my two sons during the heady days of brand new fatherhood," Springfield said of the March release on his website. "As a songwriter, I wanted to do something to commemorate the birth of our children. I rediscovered them last year, stuck in the back of a drawer in my music room. They brought back so many good memories of our kids when they were babies, that I decided to rerecord and share them."
The new studio set follows 2008's "Venus in Overdrive," which reached No. 28 on Billboard's Comprehensive Albums chart and marked the Grammy winner's highest-charting debut in two decades.
