Almost a full decade after releasing her most recent album, 2000's multi-platinum "Lovers Rock," soft-R&B singer Sade has unveiled plans to deliver a follow-up.
Titled "Soldier of Love," the forthcoming set is scheduled for a Feb. 8 worldwide release, according to Epic Records. The multi-platinum singer recorded the collection in England, and co-produced the work with her band, as well as with longtime collaborator Mike Pela.
"Soldier of Love" will be sixth studio set in Sade's catalog, which dates back to 1984's "Diamond Life." "Lovers Rock" came along eight years after its predecessor, 1992's "Love Deluxe."
Over the course of her career, Sade and her eponymous band have won three Grammy Awards: Best New Artist in 1986; Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group for "No Ordinary Love" in 1994; and Best Pop Vocal Album for "Lovers Rock" in 2002. All five of their studio albums have made it into the Top 10 on The Billboard 200 chart, and have sold a combined total of more than 50 million copies to date, according to Epic.
