Marilyn Manson walked off stage midway through his final show on the Big Day Out tour of Australia on Sunday after being angered by a rowdy crowd that hurled water bottles and other debris on stage during Manson's set. A guitar technician on Manson's crew was treated for lacerations to the head after the truncated performance, according to a report in The Australian.
Officials noted that about 400 concertgoers were injured during the day-long show, which also featured performances by Korn, Hole and Sean Lennon. Most injuries were minor and were primarily due to extended exposure to the sun, while a few spinal injuries resulted from crowd-surfing.

During the course of his Australian tour, Manson and Hole leader Courtney Love announced plans to co-headline a North American tour, which will begin February 28th in Spokane, WA. The two outspoken musicians had recently engaged in some public verbal sparring, leading many to believe that chances of a joint tour were slim, but they reportedly made up early into the Australian tour.
An Australian representative for Manson's record company blamed Sunday's incident on a few rowdy patrons in the mosh pit, and said that Manson's profanity-laden statements before leaving the stage were no reflection on possibilities for future Manson tours of Australia.
