The Melvins and Folk Implosion are embarking on co-headlining tour of small clubs, beginning on April 13 in San Diego.
Following the May 3 show in Minneapolis, the Melvins will head south to Des Moines, where they will hook up with opener Hank Williams III for nine shows through May 15.
Folk Implosion co-founder Lou Barlow has assembled a full band for the tour with the Melvins; Barlow's partner, John Davis, prefers to concentrate on studio work instead of hitting the stage. The duo scored a surprise hit with "Natural One" from the "Kids" soundtrack in 1995.
On April 3, the Melvins will release "Colossus of Destiny" (Ipecac), a live, noise recording of one song. Folk Implosion's latest album, "One Part Lullaby" (Interscope), was released in 1999.
