The Go-Go’s plan to support their recently released album, “God Bless the Go-Go’s,” with a series of spring and summer radio festival appearances. The veteran female quintet has also lined up a number of headlining performances.
“God Bless the Go-Go’s” (Beyond) hit stores last week, and is the group’s first release of all-new material in 17 years. The album’s first single, “Unforgiven,” is at No. 23 on Billboard’s latest Adult Top 40 singles chart.
“Unforgiven” was co-written by Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, whose guitar playing and background vocals are also featured on the track, according to the Go-Go’s’ official website.
A streaming-audio version of “Unforgiven” in its entirety--as well as a sample of the song “Here You Are”--is currently available at the group’s website.
Go-Go's singer Belinda Carlisle also supported “God Bless the Go-Go’s” by posing for a pictorial that will appear in the August issue of Playboy magazine, according to a press release from Beyond Records.
