update: Mary Chapin Carpenter , who late last month kicked off a European tour, will embark on a two-month, U.S. outing in late-June. The country singer--who just released her latest album, “Time* Sex* Love*"--will be joined on most dates by Steve Earle.
Carpenter’s U.S. run will begin with a four-day engagement in Colorado at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. The singer is scheduled to appear with Emmylou Harris on June 21, and will be performing sets of her own on June 22-23, according to Sony Music.
In addition to her lengthy roster of U.S. dates, Carpenter has a sole Canadian performance set in Toronto on Aug. 21.
“Time* Sex* Love*” (Columbia) was released on May 29, and is Carpenter’s first album since 1996’s “Place in the World.” “Simple Life,” the first single from the new album, peaked at No. 9 on Billboard’s Country Singles Sales chart in late April, and currently sits at No. 14.
Carpenter’s European tour continues on Wednesday night (6/6) in England, and is scheduled to wrap up on Sunday (6/11).
