Tool plans to follow a brief August run with King Crimson with an arena tour that will begin in the Midwestern and Eastern states. Four early-September dates in the Midwest have been confirmed so far.
Advance tickets to some of the group’s upcoming stops will be available through its official website, according to a message posted there, but no additional details were available at press time.
Tool has not announced an opening act for the forthcoming Midwestern dates. The group kicks off its tour of the West with King Crimson on Friday night (8/3) in Colorado.
Tool’s yet-to-be-announced East Coast and Southern dates, meanwhile, will feature Fantomas --former Faith No More frontman Mike Patton’s current project--in the opening slot from Sept. 22 through Oct. 7, according to Patton’s Ipecac Recordings.
“Lateralus” (Volcano), Tool’s latest album, surfaced in May and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
Fantomas’ sophomore effort, “The Director’s Cut” (Ipecac), was released in early July.
