Tool , which late last month announced the first few dates for the next leg of its North American tour, has added more stops to its itinerary.
On Wednesday night (8/15), the group will wrap up its brief run through theaters in the western U.S. with King Crimson. Tool returns to the road in early September, with performances planned at arenas throughout the midwestern and northeastern U.S., as well as a pair of Canadian stops.
Tool’s plans also include a late October performance at the Voodoo Music Experience festival in New Orleans, which the group will co-headline with the Black Crowes. Other acts scheduled to appear at the event include Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, Better Than Ezra, G.Love & Special Sauce, Gov't Mule.
“Lateralus” (Volcano), Tool’s latest album, was released in May and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart. “Schism,” the album’s first single, is No. 2 on Billboard’s latest Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, and No. 3 on both Billboard’s Modern Rock Tracks chart and trade publication Radio & Records’ national rock airplay chart.
Tool has already toured Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Japan behind “Lateralus,” and earlier this month kicked off a tour of the western U.S. with King Crimson. The latter leg comes to a close tonight (8/15) in San Diego.
