updated 9/13: Slipknot and System of a Down will back their forthcoming albums with a fall co-headlining tour that will also feature Mudvayne and Rammstein, as well as rotating support from American Head Charge and No One. Dubbed the Pledge of Allegiance tour, the outing is scheduled to begin in mid-September, and, fittingly, will wrap up on Halloween night.
Tickets for a number of the confirmed shows are set to go on sale between Friday and Sunday (8/17-19), according to organizers.
Slipknot, System of a Down, Mudvayne and Rammstein will appear at all of the tour’s stops, while No One will open from Sept. 14 through Oct. 7, and American Head Charge will open from Oct. 10 through the Halloween tour closer.
Both Slipknot and System of a Down will be backing new albums on the upcoming outing. Slipknot’s “Iowa” (Roadrunner) is due in stores on Aug. 28, while System of a Down’s “Toxicity” (Columbia) is set for release on Sept. 4.
Mudvayne’s major-label debut, “L.D. 50” (Epic), surfaced one year ago, and features the group’s recent hit, “Death Blooms.” Rammstein released its latest album, “Mutter” (Universal) in April.
The Pledge of Allegiance tour comes in the wake of this summer’s recently completed Ozzfest tour, an outing whose roster also featured Slipknot, Mudvayne and American Head Charge.
