Last week, just one day before the planned Nov. 30 kick off of Macy Gray 's U.S. club tour in support of this year's "The Id," news surfaced that the outing had been canceled. The singer has since stated that the "reasons why are complicated and not very exciting," offering as explanation only that the cancellation had nothing to do with her health.
In a message posted on her official website, Gray said, "Everybody in the dirty dirty South who had planned on coming to my upcoming tour, please know that I was looking forward to it like crazy and did everything I could to avoid canceling."
Specific details on when Gray's U.S. tour will now take place were not offered, but the singer did say in her message that she "won't be canceling next time--and next time is soon."
Gray is still scheduled to perform on the Dec. 14 episode of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," and is also still slated give a New Year's Eve performance at the West Hollywood, Calif., House of Blues.
Her latest album, "The Id" (Epic), was released in September and debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
