Bjork plans DVD releases, festival appearance

Bjork will release a collection of live DVDs next month, and will play at this year's Coachella Valley Festival in Southern California.

The collection, due on Feb. 19, is dubbed "Live DVD Series," and will include "Bjork Live at Shepherd's Bush Empire," filmed in 1997 and previously released on VHS by Elektra in 1998; "Live at Cambridge with the Icelandic Octet," filmed in 1998; and a disc featuring her MTV Europe performances on "MTV Unplugged" and "MTV Live," both of which were filmed in 1994. The DVDs were previously only available internationally.

A fourth and final DVD, of Bjork's London Royal Opera House performance that took place in December, is tentatively scheduled to reach stores this summer.

AOL will be promoting the DVD series online via variety of online promotions, including the online streaming offering one of the DVD releases for customers of AOL High-Speed Broadband.

Bjork is scheduled to perform at the Coachella Valley Festival in Indio, Calif., on April 27. Last year's five-stage Coachella event featured Jane's Addiction, the Chemical Brothers, Mos Def, Sigur Ros, Fatboy Slim and others.

According to Elektra Records, Bjork has no immediate plans to record a new album.

The singer recently snared her eighth Grammy nomination (Best Alternative Music Album for last year's "Vespertine") and a Brit Award nomination (Best International Female).
