Eminem hosts hometown gig with 50 Cent, Missy Elliott

Eminem apparently is planning just one North American concert for 2003, but it promises to be a big one.

The Detroit rapper has hand-picked Missy Elliott and 50 Cent to join him for a July 12 show at his hometown's Ford Field, according to promoter Clear Channel Entertainment. Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday (2/15).

Eminem's Anger Management Tour, which visited about 30 North American cities in 2002, is focusing on Japan and Europe this summer. The Detroit show is expected to be Eminem's only North American concert in 2003, according to promoters.

Ford Field, the new home of the NFL's Detroit Lions, has a capacity of about 45,000 for concerts.

Eminem earned his first Academy Award nomination on Tuesday (2/11) when his track "Lose Yourself" from the film "8 Mile" received the nod for Best Original Song. Meanwhile, his best-selling 2002 album "The Eminem Show" is up for five GRAMMY® awards, including Album of the Year.

Rapper 50 Cent recently released an album titled "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" on Eminem's Shady Records label. According to Interscope Records, the album hit stores on Thursday (2/6)--several days earlier than scheduled--because its tracks were being widely circulated on the Internet.

The latest album from hip-hop veteran Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott is 2002's top-10 hit "Under Construction." Eminem guested on the Elliot's 1999 track "Busa Rhyme," which appeared on her "Da Real World" album.
