Four artists go home with a pair of Soul Train Music Awards

Taking home a pair of statues apiece, Ashanti , B2K , Musiq and Nelly were the leading winners at the 17th annual Soul Train Music Awards.

Ashanti got the nod in the best female R&B soul single and album categories, while Musiq was the winner in the male categories for the same awards. B2K took the group award for best R&B/soul single (for "Bump, Bump, Bump") and best group R&B Soul album its self-titled album.

Nelly's "Nellyville" won the award for R&B/soul or rap album of the year, and--in a previously announced award--the rapper picked up the Sammy Davis Jr. Award for Entertainer of the Year.

Mariah Carey and LL Cool J were each honored with a Quincy Jones Award for Outstanding Career Achievements.

The awards ceremony took place on Saturday (3/1) at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium.
