3 Doors Down is gearing up for the mid-April launch of another round of U.S. dates that support last year's platinum-certified "Away from the Sun."
So far, the group's spring itinerary focuses on the eastern U.S., beginning with an April 15 engagement at Arkansas Technical University. Subsequent dates, which include other college shows, are primarily booked at outdoor venues.
"Away from the Sun," which surfaced last November, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart, thanks in part to the GRAMMY®-nominated cut "When I'm Gone." The song's original music video is streaming at 3 Doors Down's official website, as is an alternate live-performance video for the track, which the group filmed overseas during its fall 2002 tour.
Rock outfit Theory of a Deadman, which is opening for 3 Doors Down during its current European outing, will also hold down the opening slot on the stateside run.
From April 25th through the 27th, 3 Doors Down is slated to perform at three outdoor festivals in Florida, at which they will share the stage with Godsmack and Saliva.
