3 Doors Down follows spring run with summer outing

3 Doors Down , which in late May wraps up the latest leg of its run behind last year's platinum-selling "Away from the Sun," returns to the U.S. tour circuit in July.

Canadian rockers Our Lady Peace, whose latest album is last year's "Gravity," will hold down the opening slot on the summer outing.

Rock outfit Theory of a Dead Man opens most of the 3 Doors Down's remaining spring tour dates, with Echo 7 stepping in for the final pair of shows on May 22 and 23.

"Away from the Sun," which surfaced last November, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 album chart. The set features the cut "When I'm Gone," which recently took over the No. 1 slot on the Billboard Top 40 chart.

The music video for the album's latest single, "The Road I'm On," is streaming at 3 Doors Down's website. The clip features NASCAR drivers Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Tony Stewart.

On May 21, 3 Doors Down is slated to perform on "The Late Show with David Letterman."
