Mary Black heads to America for March theater tour

Celtic singer Mary Black works the U.S. theater circuit during a late-winter/early spring road trip.

Black has scheduled just over two-weeks worth of dates that begin in Virginia on March 10. The singer works her way from east to west, eventually wrapping up on the West Coast at the end of the month.

Black's most-recent releases are last year's "Live"--a live CD and DVD set--and 2001's "Best of 1991-2001." She hasn't released a new studio set in the U.S. since 2000's "Speaking with the Angel."

Black issued her self-titled debut in 1983. The album hit No. 4 on the Irish charts, and won her the Irish Independent Arts Award for Music.
