Rappers Ludacris and Chingy set out next month for a run on the U.S. theater circuit that also features Disturbing tha Peace member I-20.
The jaunt kicks off on the West Coast in mid-February, and circles its way around the country before wrapping up in Las Vegas on March 21. Tickets for a number of shows are on sale now.
The outing supports Ludacris' "Chicken-N-Beer," which surfaced in October and debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 album chart after selling about 400,000 copies during its first week in stores.
The album's first single--"Stand Up," featuring Disturbing tha Peace member Shawna--peaked at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Rap Tracks chart, where it currently sits at No. 3. The cut, which is streaming at Ludacris' website, earned Ludacris a GRAMMY® nomination in the Best Rap Solo Performance category. He is also up for the Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for "Gossip Folks," a Missy Elliott track on which he guests that appears in the film "Under Construction."
Chingy is backing last year's "Jackpot," which he released on Ludacris' Disturbing tha Peace label. The set includes the hit singles "Right Thurr"--which is streaming at Chingy's website--and "Holidae In," a cut that features Snoop Dogg and Ludacris.
Next week, MTV will add to its rotation Chingy's recently completed video for the "Jackpot" track "One Call Away," according to a press release.
Ludacris protégés Disturbing tha Peace released their debut set, "Golden Grain," in 2002. Ludacris turns up on a number of tracks, and also toured with the group to support the album.
