Trapt leads Smile Empty Soul, Finger Eleven on 2004 SnoCore tour
Trapt gets the year off to a busy start by following its opening stint on Nickelback's tour with a headlining slot on the annual SnoCore Rock outing.
The California-based rockers are due to open a handful of late-January and early-February shows on Canadian outfit Nickelback's home turf, and also slip in a few of their own headlining dates and in-store appearances.
The March 4 kick-off of the SnoCore Rock outing follows in Washington, DC. Joining Trapt on the run are alt-metal trio Smile Empty Soul , Canadian quintet Finger Eleven and San Jose, CA-bred rockers Strata.
Trapt released its self-titled debut in late 2002. The album, which includes the single "Headstrong," went platinum last November, signifying U.S. shipment of 1 million copies.
The band's website features free MP3s of "Headstrong" and "Still Frame," as well as streaming versions of the "Headstrong" music video, a behind-the-scenes look at the video shoot, and a live rendition of the track.
Trapt formed in 1995, and cites Korn, Soundgarden, Pink Floyd, 311 and Metallica as influences. The group recorded its 12-song debut in Vancouver, British Columbia, with producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine).
Alt-metal trio Smile Empty Soul released its self-titled debut album in late May. Finger Eleven delivered its third album, also a self-titled set, last June.
