Styx, Peter Frampton to mount co-headlining summer tour

Classic rockers Styx and Peter Frampton join forces for this summer's VH1 Classic Summer Hits concert tour, which also will feature special guest Nelson.

The outing gets underway on May 6 in the Cleveland area, and is due to wrap up in Virginia Beach, VA, on June 27. Tickets for a number of shows are on sale now, with many others due to hit the box office this month, according to promoters.

Hard Rock Cafe has signed on as the tour's sponsor.

Two days before the tour kicks off, Styx releases "Come Sail Away: The Styx Anthology," a retrospective set featuring 35 digitally remastered tracks culled from throughout the band's 30-year career. The album will also include a "deluxe booklet, many rare photos," and "an essay with detailed credits," according to a press release.

Frampton--best known for his multi-platinum, '70s-era album "Frampton Comes Alive"--is supporting last year's "Now," which is his first new studio album in nine years.

Nelson--twin brothers fathered by Ricky Nelson, and the grandsons of Ozzie Nelson--broke through on the hair-metal scene with the No. 1 hit "Love and Affection."
