Briefly: Jessica Simpson, Loretta Lynn, Jack White, Usher, Madonna

Pop-music and TV star Jessica Simpson will play a May 22 concert in New York City's Central Park to raise money for the Skin Cancer Foundation.

The event also will feature a "Beauty Village" that offers free makeovers, product samples and skin-care advice, according to a press release.

Tickets for the show, sponsored by Allure magazine, are now on sale through Ticketmaster. (Ticketmaster is liveDaily's parent company.)

Country-music fixture Loretta Lynn and Jack White of The White Stripes --who produced Lynn's new album, "Van Lear Rose"--will perform their duet "Portland Oregon" on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on May 3.

Lynn will also appear on CNN's "Larry King Live" during the first week of May, according to Interscope Records.

With sales of about 253,000 copies over the last week, Usher 's "Confessions" extends its reign atop the U.S. album chart to five weeks, according to Billboard.com. "Confessions" bested the debut-week of Mario Winans' "Hurt No More" by about 30,000 copies.

Prince's "Musicology' debuts at No. 3 on The Billboard 200, followed by the hits compilation "NOW! That's What I Call Music, Vol. 15."

Rounding out the Top 5 is Jessica Simpson's "In This Skin."
