More dates have surfaced for Cher 's ongoing farewell tour, which is rolling into its third year on the road.
The singer, who earlier this week unveiled plans to make another pass through North America this summer, has added a number of July, August and September dates to the run. Details are shown below.
Cher launched her open-ended farewell tour in June of 2002, and has played more than 200 shows for a total of more than 2.2 million fans in North America. According to promoter Clear Channel Entertainment, the singer has said that this year's shows will be her last.
Throughout the course of the tour, Cher's set lists have spanned her four-decade-long career, and her performances feature multiple costume changes.
The outing spawned "Cher Live: The Farewell Tour," a concert DVD that features 18 songs recorded during her Nov. 8, 2002 concert in Miami. A simultaneously released audio CD that houses the same 18 tracks has sold more than 2 million copies, according to a press release.
Cher, who recently celebrated her 58th birthday, first rose to fame in the '60s with partner and then-spouse Sonny Bono. During her subsequent solo career, she has enjoyed several cycles of prominent commercial success, the most recent of which occurred in 1998. It was during that year that her single "Believe," featured on the album of the same name, hit No. 1, and went on to garner the 1999 Grammy award for Best Dance Recording.
"Living Proof," Cher's most-recent album of new material, surfaced in early 2002.
