Briefly: Juvenile, Leonard Cohen, Lloyd Banks, Blues Explosion

Juvenile has signed a "long-term, exclusive worldwide recording contract" with Atlantic Records in a deal that also brings his UTP Records label under Atlantic's umbrella.

The rapper's previous album, "Juve the Great," was released by Cash Money/Universal.

"Dear Heather," the first new album from singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen since 2001's "Ten New Songs," will reach stores on Sept. 28.

According to Columbia Records, the set features 12 new Cohen compositions: "Go No More A-Roving," "Because Of," "The Letters," "Undertow," "Morning Glory," "On that Day," "Villanelle for Our Time," "There for You," "Dear Heather," "Nightingale," "To a Teacher" and "The Faith." It also includes a live recording of the standard "Tennessee Waltz."

About 164,000 copies of rapper Lloyd Banks ' "The Hunger for More" sold in the last week, enough to keep the set atop The Billboard 200 album chart for a second straight week.

Holding steady at No. 2 is Usher 's "Confessions," while Gretchen Wilson's "Here for the Party" jumps five places to No. 3, according to Billboard.

Jadakiss' "Kiss of Death" spends its second straight week at No. 4, while Avril Lavigne's "Under My Skin" jumps from No. 11 to No. 5.

Jon Spencer Blues Explosion will issue a new album titled "Damage" on Sept. 29. Several producers had a hand in the set, including DJ Shadow, Dan "The Automator" Nakamura, David Holmes Alan Moulder and Steve Jordan.

Public Enemy's Chuck D is among the guest artists who contributed to the album.
