Jay-Z and Linkin Park 's July 18 performance at the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, CA, has become the basis for an upcoming CD/DVD release, as well as a new program that will air on MTV.
During their summer concert, the rapper and the rock band took the stage together at the small club to combine their songs: Linkin Park lyrics were used over Jay-Z's beats and vice-versa. The pairing was for a new MTV program dubbed "Ultimate Mash-ups," which premieres on Nov. 10.
Among the 'mash-ups' performed that night were "Numb/Encore," "Izzo/In the End" and "Dirt off Your Shoulder/Lying from You."
A two-disc CD/DVD of the show will be released on Nov. 30. The DVD contains the entire performance, along with a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process that led to the event. The CD features studio recordings of the same song combinations that were preformed live that night, according to Linkin Park's website.
