Alison Krauss and Union Station plot more shows

Alison Krauss & Union Station--who launch their latest round of U.S. tour dates later this week--have added a number of stops to the run.

The bluegrass favorites have penciled in a number of March and April shows, and have also scheduled lone dates in May and June. The itinerary is shown below.

The roadwork backs Krauss' latest album, "Lonely Runs Both Ways," which surfaced in late November. The set is the group's first new studio release since 2001's "New Favorite"; the two-disc live collection "Alison Krauss & Union Station Live" followed in 2002.

The new album features several band originals, as well as songs by Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, John Scott Sherrill and Mindy Smith, Del McCoury, Woody Guthrie and others.

Late last year, Krauss picked up two CMA awards for her duet with Brad Paisley, "Whiskey Lullaby," which won in the Musical Event of the Year and Music Video of the Year categories. The cut is featured on Paisley's album "Mud on the Tires."

In December, Krauss received Grammy nominations in several categories, including Best Female Country Vocal Performance for "You Will Be My Ain True Love," a Sting-penned cut that she sang for the "Cold Mountain" soundtrack. If she wins any of the categories in which she is nominated, she'll have to make room in a trophy case that already contains 17 previous Grammys--more than any other female artist in the history of the awards.

The 47th Annual Grammy Awards take place in Los Angeles on Feb. 13, and will air live on CBS.
