Jimmy Buffett sets concert dates in the South, West

Jimmy Buffett , who's been touring in short stints in recent years, won't be changing that formula in early 2005.

Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band head back on the road in mid-February for a five-city jaunt through the Carolinas and Florida, and will follow up in April with a West Coast trek, for which four cities are confirmed so far.

Tickets for the February dates will go on sale on Saturday (1/22), while on-sales for the April shows begin on Monday (1/24), according to promoters.

Meanwhile, Chicago news outlets recently reported that Buffett has gained approval to play Sept. 2 and Sept. 4 concerts at the historic Windy City ballpark Wrigley Field, though those dates haven't been officially confirmed.

Buffett's latest album, last year's "License To Chill," features guest appearances by several country artists, including Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, George Strait and Toby Keith. Its debut single was a cover of Hank Williams' "Hey Good Lookin'," featuring Clint Black, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith and George Strait.

"License to Chill" followed the success of the CMA- and ACM-award winning "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere," a duet by Buffett and Alan Jackson that appeared on Jackson's 2003 best-of album.
