Toby Keith revives 'Big Throwdown' tour this summer

Toby Keith will follow the release of his new album, "Honkytonk University," with a summer tour that features Lee Ann Womack and Shooter Jennings in the opening slots.

Dubbed "Big Throwdown II"--the follow-up to Keith's winter outing with Ted Nugent--the tour is scheduled to open June 10 in Charlotte, NC, and dates currently run through August. Confirmed shows are in the itinerary below. According to Keith's website, dates in Washington, DC; Hartford, CT; and Pittsburgh are also in the works, but hadn't been confirmed at press time.

"Honkytonk University," Keith's first new studio album since 2004's quadruple-platinum "Shock'N Y'All, is due in stores May 17. He issued the double-platinum set "Greatest Hits 2" last fall.

Keith is vying for four Academy of Country Music Awards this year, including his second-consecutive Entertainer of the Year Award. The ACMs will be handed out May 17 in Las Vegas.

Five-time ACM winner Lee Ann Womack is backing her new album, "There's More Where That Came From." She's up for three ACM Awards, including Top Female Vocalist.

Jennings, the son of Jessi Colter at the late Waylon Jennings, is backing his debut album, "Put the O Back in Country."
