Velvet Revolver has nailed down a series of late-summer headlining dates as speculation mounts that the group will appear on a number of late-August Ozzfest stops.
Currently in the midst of a spring run through the U.S., the band has locked in a half-dozen August headlining shows, most of which are set in the Midwest. Details are included below.
The band wraps up its latest leg of U.S. tour dates in late May, then heads to Europe to work the summer-festival circuit.
Meanwhile, fans are awaiting confirmation that the group will join the Ozzfest roster in late August, taking over a mainstage slot that Iron Maiden will vacate at that time. Drummer Matt Sorum recently told Launch Radio Networks that the group would in fact join the bill, according to various Internet reports, but no official announcement has since surfaced.
Velvet Revolver features ex-Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland; former Guns N' Roses members Slash (guitar), Duff McKagan (bass) and Sorum (drums); and former Suicidal Tendencies member David Kushner (guitar).
"Contraband," the group's debut album, surfaced in June of last year, and spawned the Grammy-winning single "Slither." It entered The Billboard 200 album chart at No. 1, selling more than 250,000 copies during its first week in stores.
The video for the album's latest single, "Dirty Little Thing," is streaming at the group's website.
