Def Leppard slips dates between stints with Bryan Adams

British rockers Def Leppard , who will spend much of the summer playing minor league ballparks with fellow '80s hit-maker Bryan Adams , have lined up a number of their own shows.

After playing the first eight dates of its "Rock 'N Roll Double-Header Tour" with Adams in early June, Leppard will spend the rest of the month banging out 10 headlining performances and a pair of festival appearances.

Reprising its role during Def Leppard's tour behind 1987's "Hysteria," Sacramento-based rock quintet Tesla will open nine of the dates; Montrose opens the tour's stop in Jacksonville, FL. Details are included in the itinerary below.

Subsequent "Rock 'N Roll Double-Header Tour" dates with Adams stretch into mid-August. The co-headliners are booked to play a total of 26 minor league ballparks by tour's end.

In each ballpark, the stage will be set up in the outfield. Fans can either bring a blanket to sit on the field or sit in the stands, according to a press release.

Def Leppard and Adams each plan to release a new album in 2005.

On May 17, Mercury/UMe will issue "Def Leppard--Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection," a two-disc best-of album that features the new single "No Matter What," which originally was recorded by Badfinger. Two of Def Leppard's albums--"Pyromania" and "Hysteria"--have sold more than 10 million copies each in the U.S.

"Room Service," the latest album from Canada's Adams, hits stores May 10. The set already debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's European album chart.

Among Adams' No. 1 singles are "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You," "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?," "Heaven" and "All For Love" (with Rod Stewart and Sting).
