Kanye West claims two BET Awards

Rapper/producer Kanye West walked away with a pair of BET Awards on Tuesday (6/28) night, and was the only artist with multiple wins at the cable network's annual ceremony.

West took the statuettes for top male hip-hop artist, and won top video for "Jesus Walks."

Ciara , who was nominated in a field-leading four categories, took just one award, for best collaboration ("1, 2 Step," featuring Missy Elliott).

The BET Awards have a tradition of surprise openings, and this year was no exception, with The Fugees ' Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michael making their first televised performance together in many years. The trio played a 10-minute-plus medley of its hits.

Gladys Knight was presented with a special Lifetime Achievement Award, and also performed. Other performers included Stevie Wonder (with John Legend), Mariah Carey, Destiny's Child, T.I., Mike Jones and Ciara.

The show took place at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles. A complete list of winners follows:
