Masked metal-collective Slipknot has laid plans for a month-long tour that will cap the group's support for last year's "Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)," and will usher in a new live set.
"Thanks to our fans, the 'Subliminal Verses World Tour' was the biggest and greatest tour of our career," drummer Joey Jordison said in a press release. "To celebrate, we've decided to cap off this phase by doing a month-long tour this October/November, mainly in the Northeast and Midwest. As an added bonus, we'll be doing a few nights at some smaller clubs we wouldn't normally play."
Dubbed "Subliminal Verses Tour: The Final Volume," the fall outing kicks off in mid-October, and includes two-night stands in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York and the Boston area.
The North American trek will follow the group's September run through South America, as well as a late-August appearance on the Ozzfest tour and a one-off concert in Las Vegas. Details are included in the itinerary below.
Fellow metal outfits As I Lay Dying and Unearth hold down the tour's opening slot.
On Tuesday (8/16), Slipknot hits the stage in Singapore, and tape will be rolling; the band plans to use some material from the show to augment its forthcoming live album. Due out Nov. 1, the as-yet-untitled, two-disc set will primarily comprise tracks culled from the group's previous tours, according to a press release.
