O.A.R. takes 'Stories' to the masses

Fresh off a summer tour, jam-band O.A.R. (Of a Revolution) is continuing its road-warrior ways with a massive fall tour to embrace the release of its forthcoming album, "Stories of a Stranger."

The trek begins Oct. 4, 10 days after the album is scheduled to drop, and visits 30 mid-sized theaters--such as The Fillmore in Denver, the Warfield in San Francisco and the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, MO--before ending Nov. 26. Details are listed below.

According to a press release, the Rockville, MD-based quintet will have played in front of 500,000 people by the end of 2005.

"Stories of a Stranger" was produced by former Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison, who has also turned the knobs for Live, No Doubt and The Von Bondies. Beginning Friday (8/26),
fans can pre-order the album on the band's website.

O.A.R. will also offer a sneak preview EP, "The Stranger," exclusively through Apple Computer's iTunes Music Store, beginning Aug. 30. It features the album version of the band's single "Love and Memories" and an acoustic version of another album track, "The Stranger."
