Briefly: Britney Spears, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Coldplay

Britney Spears reportedly gave birth to a baby boy Wednesday (9/14) via Caesarean section at a Los Angeles-area hospital.

According to an online US Weekly Magazine report, Spears and her husband, dancer Kevin Federline, went to the hospital early Wednesday morning with a police escort.

Kanye West 's "Late Registration" spends its second consecutive week atop The Billboard 200 album chart, outselling a new edition of 50 Cent 's "The Massacre."

"The Massacre"--a former No. 1 album that charted at No. 35 a week ago--was re-released to include a music video for each of its tracks.

The Rolling Stones ' "A Bigger Bang" debuts on the chart at No. 3, while Black Eyed Peas' "Monkey Business" jumps two rungs to No. 4. Mariah Carey's "The Emancipation of Mimi" holds steady at No. 5.

Coldplay has issued a new, four-track EP via Apple Computer's iTunes Music Store, the proceeds from which will be earmarked for the American Red Cross and the MusiCares Hurricane Relief Fund.

The EP features the new single "Fix You" and the previously unreleased studio track "The World Turned Upside Down," as well as live versions of "Pour Me" and "Fix You."
