Nickelback rings up more tour dates

Canadian rockers Nickelback , who launch their North American tour tonight (1/17) on their home turf, have added a slew of dates to their itinerary.

The group has filled its dance card for March, with shows now set in 20 U.S. cities that month, and has also penciled in some new February stops in the Midwest. Among those is a Feb. 2 performance in Detroit as part of the Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Concert Series. More information about that gig, which will also feature Kanye West and Train, is available at the event's website.

The Super Bowl gig bumps a previously scheduled Feb. 2 performance in Green Bay, WI, back to Feb. 20. Details are included in the itinerary below.

As previously reported, fellow Canadian rock group Danko Jones , along with alt-rock veterans Live , will open Nickelback's Canadian concerts, while Trapt will hold down the opening slot during Nickelback's January and March U.S. performances.

Nickelback's latest album, "All the Right Reasons," hit stores in October, and sold about 317,000 copies during its first week out, enough to grab a No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 chart.

Live has announced a March 21 release for its next album, "Songs From Black Mountain." The set's first single, "The River,"has been shipped to radio stations.

Danko Jones--which has been touring most of this year behind its first U.S. release, "We Sweat Blood"--has finished work on a follow-up titled "Sleep is the Enemy." The set is due to hit U.S. shelves on May 26. The band plans to shoot a video for the first single, "First Date," in February, according to Razor & Tie Records.

Trapt continues to back its sophomore effort, last year's "Someone in Control."
