Veteran rockers Aerosmith , who are in the midst of a winter tour that features Lenny Kravitz in the opening slot, will soon team up with Cheap Trick during a new round of North American shows.
Following the Feb. 24 conclusion of the run with Kravitz, Aerosmith will take a short break before launching the next leg of its 2006 roadwork, which is currently scheduled for an early March kick-off in Florida. So far, dates for that leg--which will feature Cheap Trick--stretch into early April. Details are included below.
Aerosmith is on the road behind last October's "Rockin' the Joint," which captures the group's January 2002 performance at Las Vegas' The Joint, a 3,000-capacity venue located inside the Hard Rock Hotel. The disc follows 2004's all-blues album, "Honkin' on Bobo."
Aerosmith's setlist during the current tour has featured a number of the group's hits--including "Walk This Way," "Angel," "Dream On," "Dude (Looks Like a Lady)," "Sweet Emotion," "Janie's Got a Gun" and "Love in an Elevator"--as well as deeper cuts such as "Seasons of Wither" and "No More No More," and some covers, including The Beatles' "Helter Skelter," according to the tour's publicist.
Kravitz--who continues to support his 2004 release, "Baptism"--is backed by his 8-piece band, and is offering up hits including "Fly Away," "Are You Gonna Go My Way," "Always on the Run," "Dig In, Again," "Where Are We Runnin'."
Cheap Trick's most recent studio collection is 2003's "Special One." The group has reportedly finished recording a follow-up set, but no release date has been announced.
