Ben Folds takes 'Songs for Silverman' on the road

Shows are beginning to crop up for singer/songwriter Ben Folds 2006 tour, which backs last year's "Songs for Silverman."

So far, Folds has booked about a half-dozen March shows, and plans to announce more soon, according to his website. Details are included below.

Released last April, "Songs for Silverman," is Folds' first full-length studio set since 2001's "Rockin' the Suburbs." The newer disc features the cuts "Bastard" and "Jesusland," both of which are streaming at Folds' website.

In addition to "Silverman," Folds' 2005 output also included last August's "iTunes Originals - Ben Folds," a collection of new songs and an in-depth interview with the singer/pianist that is available exclusively via Apple's iTunes Music Store; and December's "Ben Folds and WASO Live in Perth," a concert DVD that captures Folds' March 2005 performance with the Western Australia Symphony Orchestra.
