Chili Peppers rev engines for 'Stadium Arcadium'

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are cranking up the hype machine for the May 9 release of "Stadium Arcadium," the group's first new studio set in four years.

Paving the way for the album, which boasts 25 cuts, is first single "Dani California." A clip of the track is featured in a career-retrospective promotional trailer for the new disc that is posted at the band's website.

The site also features the new album's cover art, and info about purchasing a "Dani California" ringtone.

Though the group has not yet announced details of a North American tour, it does plan to play a series of yet-to-be-revealed promotional shows in the UK, Germany, Paris, Denmark, Italy and the US. The US shows will take place in New York and Los Angeles, according to the group's website. Tickets must be won through various promotions, including a giveaway for eligible members of the band's official fanclub. Details are posted at the band's site.

The Peppers also plan to perform at this summer's Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, according to a Chicago Tribune report that appears at the band's website. Organizers have not yet made an official announcement about the lineup for the event, which takes place Aug. 4-6. More information is available at the festival's website.

"Stadium Arcadium" was produced by longtime RHCP mentor Rick Rubin, and is the follow-up to 2002's "By the Way."
