Ashlee Simpson warms up for summer trek

Comeback artist Ashlee Simpson has revealed a few spring dates that will lead up to a major summer tour.

Simpson, the sister of Jessica Simpson, has scheduled appearances in Austin, TX; Green Bay, WI; DeKalb, IL; Sioux City, IA; Champaign, IL; and East Lansing, MI. Most of the shows are set on university campuses.

Last October, Simpson released her sophomore album, "I Am Me," which follows 2004's "Autobiography." The new disc features the song "L.O.V.E.," a staple of MTV's "Total Request Live" and Radio Disney. Videos for "L.O.V.E." and the first single from "I Am Me," "Boyfriend," are available at Simpson's website.

Simpson had a trouble-free performance on "Saturday Night Live" last year, marking her return to the program one year after an embarrassing lip-synching gaffe that saw her leave the stage in the midst of a live telecast when her pre-recorded vocals were piped through the speakers as she held her microphone at her waist.

Details about Simpson's summer tour are forthcoming, according to her publicist.
