Carrie Rodriguez

Raised by a father who is a folk singer/songwriter, and a mother who is an opera-loving artist, Carrie Rodriguez grew up with every intention of making music her profession. After witnessing the wonders of Itzhak Perlman from the front row at five years old, Rodriguez immediately began classical violin lessons, eventually studying more popular styles in college following an impromptu performance alongside Lyle Lovett and His Large Band.

Nowadays, Rodriguez enjoys a successful music career, collaborating with songwriting icon Chip Taylor, who heavily influenced her 2006 debut album. Her latest effort, the recently released "She Ain't Me," showcases her own songwriting skills, and also features a few guest appearances by fellow big-time musicians like Lucinda Williams and Mary Gauthier.

Rodriguez is currently sweeping the US through the end of the year in support of "She Ain't Me."
