Zee Avi

Malaysian singer/songwriter/guitarist/ukele player Zee Avi [ tickets ], a former fashion-design student, took a detour into the music industry after posting for a friend on YouTube a video of herself performing. Positive response led her to post more videos, and she was eventually featured on YouTube--a development that brought her to the attention of Patrick Keeler of The Raconteurs, and ultimately led to a record deal.

Zee Avi's self-titled debut album surfaced in May of 2009.
